Dr. Liza Köster graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and later completed both Honours and Master’s degrees in Small Animal Internal Medicine. She finished her residencies in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Pretoria and later Cardiology at the University of Glasgow and is a registered European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine and Cardiology. Her academic career has included clinical teaching positions at the Veterinary Teaching Hospitals of the University of Sydney, Pretoria, and Glasgow as well as a teaching position at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Currently, she is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the University of Tennessee. Her special interests include biomarkers in critical illness and cardiomyopathies as well as pulmonary hypertension.
