Dr. Brian Gilger received his veterinary degree from The Ohio State University. After an completing an ophthalmology residency and master’s degree at Auburn, he joined the faculty at North Carolina State University, where he is now in his 25th year. Dr. Gilger has been president of both the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists and the International Equine Ophthalmology Consortium. He is board certified in Veterinary Ophthalmology and Toxicology and is a fellow of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). He has been recognized as a distinguished alumnus of both The Ohio State University and Auburn University and was awarded the American Veterinary Medical Association Clinical Research Award in 2018. Dr. Gilger’s research is focused on ocular immunology, uveitis, and innovative therapies for ocular disease.
